Flat Spiral Primary Tesla One

Postby Tesla369 » Wed Mar 26, 2014 7:32 pm

This is the standard TeslaOne Kit With a few modifications, instead of the box that comes with the Kit I used two 8inch circular platforms five inches apart in height. I also used a flat Archimedean primary coil with 6 turns of 1/8th inch copper tubing. The secondary toroid has been raised 2 inches and has five coats of polyurethane.

The first kit was built standard except for a raised toroid, both work very well, but the flat primary is more efficient producing longer and thicker bolts.

I must say, it certainly adds to the looks of a coil. Still it is way more work than a wire, i will probably go for an vanilla oneTesla and be happy with that.

Building a flat spiral coil for the kit is more work yes, but if you have the time it is worth it. The coil as it is,is great I have both you can't go wrong have fun building.

Wow, that certainly looks awesome. For a DIY, it looks very professional. Is 1/8 copper tubing small enough to bend by hand, or did you have to use a die? It's hard to tell from the pic, but what did you use to hold the tube in place?

Questions:

1. What is your primary hole diameter?

2. What is the space between the 1/8" copper tubing?

3. Can you show a photo of the side where the connection to the board is?

4. Do you terminate to a block of some kind then go down with twisted wires? That's what it looks like.

Love it, want to do something similar.

Thanks, Dick.
