drsstc: the french tesla coil

Hi,
To tell you the truth, I talk about my project
I am in high school in the class of art and I had the idea of transform a scientific subject into a work of art. (Ready made or arte povera) see Roman sign tesla coil.
For 3 years, I dreamed of the coil; designated several projects and received an education in electrical physics alone (no help, the technology of drsstc is little known in France) to finally use one tesla kit providing good value for money.
After several days of construction, the kit worked without problems at first start at 100% power with sparks from 1 foot long and great music.
A video will be posted later.
However, here are small changes.
_ The screws of the secondary coil are made of nylon.
_ The coil is polyurethane varnish.
_ The earth has been modified to pass through one of the screws on the card and not be in contact with the IGBT.
_ The use of an aluminum plate to the ground.
_ Cards were cleaned with isopropyl alcohol.
_the hot glue does not !! I recommend the use of epoxy resin to the secondary.
_ The thermal paste was not used (risk of short circuits)
frequency raisonnance was calculated at 279 kHz (the frequency does not take into account the capacity of the secondary coil.)
_Inductance Coil: 0.0366 henry with the correction Coefficient.
_ Toroid capacity: 8.85. 10-12 Farad
_ Resistance 261 ohms.
... and measured at 295 kHz with 555 tuner.
I use 5 turns with 14AWG wire kit.
It was a beautiful moment to first boot up.
However, I am disappointed with the result.
sparks are slightly smaller than my wish.
I am looking to optimize coupling to spare the IGBT bridge.
again sorry for my english, I hope so that my advice will help.
great kit, applaud the creators.
