One Tesla + Electric Motor = more fun

Postby brendonl94 » Fri Feb 06, 2015 4:39 am

Hi everyone I have used my One Tesla Coil quite a bit since I first got it. I had the issue of flashovers so I put 24 coats :D of oil based spray on varnish on the secondary coil worked a treat.
Now I thought of what would happen if you stuck an electric motor on the top with a thin bit of wire spinning around... The songs sounded quite different when played with this setup.
here are a few videos to check out:

Those are fantastic videos! Thank you for sharing them. We'd love to see some long-exposure photography of your coil in action!

That's different! Cool..
Fun to see something out of the ordinary, not that Tesla's are!
I though about putting a balanced wire on top, have it spin under its own power, but have not done so yet.

Thanks Marissa.
Braditude that sounds like a good idea, post a video when you get it working.

Just tried this out last night. Bent some Stainless steel wire into circular shape with some points in and placed it on top of the One Tesla Coil. These are the results:
