Behold the Mini SGTC!

As I await for my parts in the mail for my spark gap coil I decided to have some fun. To test out my winding jig I made I wound and lacquered this tiny secondary. Thought it looked neat so I made a quick topload for it. Thought that was way to cool and had to fire it up. First I made a capacitor but that shortly shorted out so I just used my MMC for my large coil thats in progress. Overkill yes. The coil actually performed better with the makeshift cap that I estimate to be around .0020uF. This MMC is .01764uF. I have all sorts of coupling issues and tuning issues but who cares. The damn thing stands 5 inches
Here it is with the primary and aluminum foil cap.
And a small video. Up too 1.5" arcs. May have to sit down on java and see what it can do. My cheap scope is no good at 1.1Mhz (Now 2.3MHz)
