I bought the OneTesla kit to use in the classroom at Rock-it Science and it worked the first time I tested it but it then became apparent that I would have to make some changes. The primary coil was arcing over to the base of the secondary, the midi input stopped working, and the position of the heat sink directly below the primary coil seemed like a bad idea.
We have a spark-gap coil and use the primary coil to create inductive heating in metal objects placed in the center... they get red hot in short order! When I saw the heat sink so close to the primary, I decided to put the secondary and primary farther away. I made a video showing the modifications at:
