Robustness of the kit

We're not perfect! What can we change?

A friend of mine lets me use his whenever.

There are services, but they tend to be extremely expensive.

Well, send me the CAD file, if you successfully made it :)

I probably won't make it until my secondary caps break off though..

I'll get my second secondary coil tomorrow. Another try... Will it have a better chance with super glue?

I tried it on my current secondary. The bottom cap broke of while the top one sticks tight as hell! I even tried to rip it off without any success. I would have damaged the toroid by the time I broke the top cap off. Looking forward for a robust construction.

hm
how about cutting a few notches in the PVC so that the glue has more to hold on to?

what's different about the two ends? was one sanded more?

Maybe I didn't let the super glue dry long enough. I will let it dry for an hour or two and then see if it's stable enough. I also covered the secondary coil in varnish, as suggested by other users to prevent flashovers.

did you coat just the wire or the entire secondary??

and what varnish are you using?

The secondary is 99% out of wire, I coated the windings of it.

I'm using clear varnish out of a spray can.

And the super glue is rock solid! Love it :)
