First onetestlaTS low power test!

Postby jtorta » Thu Jul 02, 2015 3:15 pm

Well, Assembled and completed the build.

Great kit, only one or two minor issues (minor like missing the wingnut  )

Here is a vid of the first powerup and low power test.

Any suggestions on good locations, ground, etc for a higher power test?
The aluminum foil base sounded good for a table etc but kinda wondering about the other instruction over not getting near any metal (I am assuming it was meant arcing actively to) I also have rolled aluminum sheet that would be much easier to handle then the foil much thicker (again for table use?) should that behave any differently? cautions? should the breakout always be pointing to the side? Up possible with this unit? (have seen it but again tentative on what I will do yet and want to make sure no harm done.)
Also I have seen other onetestlaTS's throwing bolts to other objects? what is a safe distance? seen ~ the height of the unit+ distance or so?
Now that I got it running the last thing I want to do is something stupid but want to experiment too

Thanks for any help.
