I got the kit this past Wednesday, and today (Friday) it's up and spitting fire.

Notice the one strike to the primary coil. I'm hopeful that the production toroid, a better ground plane, and perhaps a different breakout point placement will cure that issue.

Wow, that's a pretty fast build you did there!
You'll get better and more consistent performance if you smooth out the toroid - having only one spark to dissipate energy means a longer spark.
