First, to state the obvious, read the manual. Make sure you've correctly followed the troubleshooting steps in the manual - nothing causes more frustration than a spurious bug brought about by erroneous troubleshooting.
If that doesn't help, and you're making a post asking for assistance, here are some good things to keep in mind:
- Include pictures! A picture is worth a thousand words, and gives everyone a lot more to work with.
- Be specific. "MY COIL DOESN'T WORK" is not a very useful piece of information. Describe what problems you're having, which troubleshooting step fails, etc.
- If you have a scope, include scope shots of key waveforms, especially abnormal ones. The way a waveform is wrong often indicates why it is wrong.
