Forum Rules

Postby Bayley » Wed Jan 23, 2013 10:54 pm

In order to sustain a respectful and helpful community, follow these rules. Infractions will result in removal of the offending post, and possibly banning of the offending user.

  • Be intelligent. This is first and foremost a technical support forum - your rants about politics, the world, and your life can go elsewhere.
  • Do your own research first; at the very least, read the first couple pages of the forums to make sure the question you're asking hasn't already been asked.
  • Use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation to the best of your ability. ALL CAPS is not acceptable.
  • No links to illegal material. If you're not sure whether the material you're posting is illegal, don't post it.
  • Swearing is not explicitly forbidden, but keep it sane. "Sane" is solely defined at the discretion of the Moderators and Administrators; if we feel your post is excessively rude, it will be deleted, and you will be warned.
  • Posts should have content. "Cool story bro" is not content! Try to say something meaningful.
  • No double posting, EVER. This is a hard rule! Any additional content you want to add can be done so by editing your previous post.
  • No advertising. This includes in posts, signatures, usernames, and any other user-editable fields. Advertising is defined as linking to any site (personal or otherwise) that contains items or services for sale, or offering items and services for sale on the forums themselves.
  • No discussion of free energy or pseudoscience. If you have found a way to violate the laws of thermodynamics, please provide a link to a paper, authored by you and published in a reputable journal, along with proof of your Nobel prize in your post.
  • No disputing or discussing bans. If a user is banned, that's final. No discussion of bans or other forum moderation shall occur on these forums. Bans are final - no amount of persuasion will cause us to unban a banned user. If you feel your post has been wrongly deleted, contact a Moderator via PM. Users who violate this rule will be permanently banned, no second chances.
  • Keep threads short and focused. If you have an issue with your kit, please post a new thread, even if it resembles an issue in another thread. No one likes to dig through ten pages of speculation to find the answer to their problem. Moderators will, at their discretion, lock and/or split threads they feel have gotten too long.
