The SD card interrupter can be used with both the oneTeslaTS musical Tesla coil kit, as well as the tinyTesla musical Tesla coil kit.

The oneTesla SD Card Interrupter: Standalone Musical Tesla Coil Controller

 

The SD card interrupter kit allows you to control your musical Tesla coil without hooking it up to a computer or MIDI source. Just load MIDI files onto an SD card, connect the Tesla coil to the interrupter, and play! This interrupter also takes a MIDI input and has a standalone mode with frequency and volume control. 

 

This interrupter can be used to control the tinyTesla musical Tesla coil kit, the oneTeslaTS musical Tesla coil kit, and the original v1 oneTesla musical Tesla coil kit.

Soldering and mechanical assembly are required. The microncontroller comes pre-programmed with our firmware. Assembly instructions are available for download here

The SD card interrupter preserves all the features of our previous MIDI interrupter while adding the capability to play songs from a microSD card. It plays a stripped MIDI file format we call OMD. OMD files can be created using the bundled converter program available for download here. In addition, frequency in fixed mode is now settable in 1Hz increments, and power level for all modes can be set in precise, repeatable increments.

 

The SD interrupter’s enclosure is clear, laser-cut acylic, and screws together (no glue needed!). Tall buttons on the board (not shown in the video) eliminate the need for chassis-mounting and soldering tiny wires.

 

The interrupter requires an SD card that conforms to the base SD specification (not HC or XC) and is formatted as FAT16 (not included).

 

The interrupter requires two CR123 batteries. Batteries are not included by default, but can be added to your shopping cart. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CAN ONLY SHIP BATTERIES TO THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES. Batteries will be removed from your order if the shipping address is outside of the United States.
